    Los Altos Library and Woodland Branch Library are part of the Santa Clara County Library District. A computer catalog links the County Libraries with state of the art technology, including access to magazine articles & research databases, online access from home computers, internet access, and much more.

    The Los Altos Main Library has approximately 266,000 books, magazines, audiobooks, CDs, CDROMs and DVDs  Woodland has over 44,000 books, magazines, audiobooks and DVDs. Items not found in these libraries can be requested and delivered from any library in the Santa Clara County Library District. In addition, all Santa Clara County Libraries have 24/7 access to Ebooks; downloadable audio and video; and magazine, newspaper and other research databases.

    The Main Library facility has 28,000 sq. ft., 230 seats, and special features such as a Program Room, Community Information Center, art gallery wall, and the biggest Curious George in the area.

    The Main Library is open Monday through Thursday from 10:00AM-9:00PM, Friday and Saturday from 10:00AM-6:00PM, and Sunday from noon to 6:00PM. Woodland Branch Library is open Monday through Wednesday 11:00-8:00PM, and Thursday through Saturday 11:00AM-5:00PM.  Closed on Sunday.  Librarians are on duty at all hours to help you use the library and all its resources.

    Community Services Agency (CSA) is the community's safety net, providing critical support services that preserve and promote stability, self-reliance and dignity. 

    CSA provides this safety net for the elderly, low-income, and homeless residents of Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills.

    • Our Emergency Assistance program offers limited financial support for rent and utilities to those with financial emergencies; and our Food & Nutrition Center distributes food to minimize food insecurity for low-income populations.  
       
    • Our Senior Services program helps seniors maintain their independence through case management; and our Senior Nutrition Program provides a hot lunch for seniors at the Mountain View Senior Center. 
       
    • Our Homeless Services program offers outreach, assistance, and case management for homeless individuals and families.
